Maybe the swarm would have landed on the small tree anyway…We will never know, but the last swarm landed in a tree top, so it was definitely worth it to try.
Tanging is something that an older beekeeper told us to do to encourage the swarm to land low. We weren’t so sure about it, but a beekeeper friend of ours recently “tanged” her bees back into the hive. When this group swarmed, we tried it.
So…here is our first experience with “tanging bees” documented for your entertainment 🙂
